TOLEDO (WTVG) - A small group of students sign National Letters of Intent to play NCAA Division I or II football as February 6 marks the next and final window for prospective football players to sign with a college or university.
Now that the National Letter of Intent program is two years into its early signing day in December for prospective NCAA Division I or II football playing students, the first Wednesday in February no longer holds the weight it did three years ago.
However, a handful of high school seniors from around Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan signed with a handful of NCAA Division I or II universities to continue playing football.
Bowling Green State University has a large wave of incoming freshman joining the team as preferred walk-ons because of the scholarship numbers first-year head coach Scot Loeffler must juggle with his roster. A number of those walk-ons are from Northwest Ohio.
