Severe Weather Cancels Final Round of First WHAC Jamboree

Thunderstorms and unplayable course conditions forced the cancellation of Saturday’s final round of the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree slated to be completed at The Mines Golf Course in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The round will not be made up, as the event has been shorted to an 18-hole competition.

Lourdes finishes in sixth place after shooting 395 on Friday, while Northwestern Ohio takes the top spot, shooting 313. Indiana Tech finished second at 325.

Individually, Caitriona Griffin earns medalist honors after her round of 76, one shot ahead of teammate Haleigh Gray and Indiana Tech’s Cecilia Heck. Makenzie Fannin (Centerburg, Ohio/Centerburg H.S.) was Lourdes’ top finisher in 24th place after carding a 93 on Friday.

Lourdes will return to action on Monday morning, hosting the second of the three two-day WHAC jamborees. Day one action begins at 10 a.m. at Sylvania Country Club.
