Junior forward Willie Jackson led five Rockets in double figures with 17 points and 10 rebounds as Toledo cruised to a 99-58 victory over Wilberforce at Savage Arena Saturday night.
Senior guard Jaelan Sanford (16 points), senior guard Chris Darrington (16), sophomore guard Spencer Littleson (12) and senior forward Nate Navigato (10) all reached double digits for Toledo, which moved to 2-0 on the season following a hard-fought road victory at Oakland Friday night. Sophomore guard Marreon Jackson also dished out a career-high 10 assists without a turnover in 20 minutes.
Toledo controlled the action throughout the evening, jumping out to a 13-2 lead and never facing a serious threat from the Bulldogs, an NAIA school that fell to 3-4 on the season. Toledo led 52-29 at halftime, and head coach Tod Kowalczyk was able to empty his bench midway through the second half.
Up next for the Rockets is a trip to Horizon League favorite Wright State on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Tip-off time is set for 7:00 p.m.
