Toledo Men's Tennis Team Wraps Second Day at Purdue Invitational

The University of Toledo men's tennis team rounded out their second day of action at the Purdue Invitational on Saturday.

Sophomore Tyler Gargas went undefeated in singles play, clinching wins over Army's Alejandro Quiros (4-6, 6-4, 10-7) and Olivet's Tyler Cannon (6-0, 6-1), while advancing to the finals of Flight H.

Senior Vince Anzalone defeated Purdue's Julian Saborio (6-3, 6-3) and senior Serjen Olmedo defeated Illinois State's Cameron Petersen (6-1, 6-4). Senior Reid Teatsorth secured victories over Cardinal Stritch's Nicola Wehrle (6-1, 6-2) and Illinois State's Egehan Sertkaya (7-6(2), 6-2). Sophomore Nikola Arsic defeated Niagara's Brent Boleslav (7-6(1), 6-1) and senior Juan Carranza defeated Ball State's Khamasi Muhiga in three sets (6-3, 1-6, 10-7).

"We had some ups and downs today," head coach Al Wermer said, "but we definitely had a few very impressive showings of toughness and resilience."
