Senior Vince Anzalone advanced to the ITA main draw after wrapping Friday's singles
South Bend, Ind. - The Toledo men's tennis team wrapped its second day at the ITA Midwest Regionals on Friday.
Senior Vince Anzalone advanced to the main draw bracket after bagging a win over DePaul's Christopher Casti (6-2, 3-6, 6-3).
In doubles play, the senior duo Anzalone/Luka Vitosevic defeated George Botha/Jakov Suler of Chicago State (8-4) before getting knocked from the bracket by Tristan McCormick/Richard Ciamarra of Notre Dame (8-5). Junior duo Danilo Vukotic/Thawin Suksathaporn fell early to Western Michigan's Peter Kuszynski/Jack Randall (8-3).
"Today was another valuable learning curve for the guys," said graduate assistant coach Josh Page. "Vince did a great job in singles, competing hard and qualifying. In the doubles both teams competed well and will gain greatly from the matches they played."
