- The University of Toledo released the opponents on its 2019 football schedule today. Dates are set for the four non-conference games, but will be announced later for the eight Mid-American Conference contests.
Highlights of the non-conference schedule include a Sept. 28 matchup vs. BYU in the Glass Bowl, a rematch of a high-scoring battle between the two schools in Provo, Utah in 2016. The Cougars came away with a 55-53 victory on a field goal on the game's final play.
Toledo's other non-conference games are the season opener at Kentucky of the SEC on Aug. 31; a home game with FCS opponent Murray State on Sept. 14; and a trip out west to Colorado State on Sept. 21.
Toledo will host four Mid-American Conference opponents: Eastern Michigan, Kent State, defending MAC champion Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. MAC road games will be at Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo and Central Michigan.
Toledo (7-5) will be finishing its 2018 season at the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl vs. FIU (8-4) on Friday, Dec. 21.
Rocket football season tickets will be going on sale next week. Call 419-530-GOLD (4653) for more information.
