13abc (WTVG) - CVS Pharmacy has notified the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services that it has decided it must permanently lay-off employes at its distribution center.
The distribution center is located at 302 South Byrne in Toledo, Ohio. The company says 66 employees will be affected by the layoffs. CVS says the lay-offs are due to a restructuring of its operations. The responsibilities of those employees will be consolidated within existing distribution functions of CVS according to the document filed with the state.
The layoffs are scheduled to begin on April 29, 2016 and will continue until June 9th. The company says the employees are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights. Some employees may be offered the opportunity to remain with the company in other positions.
Toledo's Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson has also been informed of the pending layoffs.
