You may see more orange barrels around northwest Ohio over the next few weeks. Some of those lane closures won’t be for construction, though. Rather, they’re for bridge inspections.
This weekend we're expecting lots of snow and freezing temperatures which can cause a big, dangerous mess for drivers. 13abc checked in with the city of Toledo and ODOT to find out what they're doing to keep roadways safe.
Police on scene say that the blue vehicle was westbound and traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the curb, lost control and hit the white vehicle head-on.
The roadway has been closed since April as the Ohio Department of Transportation worked on a realignment. It will reopen to through traffic on Friday, October 18th.
City leaders say the bridge and surrounding sewers are finished and ready to go. The street, curbs and sidewalks around it, however, still need to be poured before reopening.

The interchange will allow drivers to exit 475 between Airport and Central. Congestion in the area will also lessen as the interstate gets widened to three lanes.
