Inmate arrested after leaving work release

An inmate who walked off a work release job in March is once again in custody.
Officers with the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force of the U.S. Marshals Service along with Defiance Police, the Defiance County Sheriff's Office and the MAN Unit arrested Daniel Oberlin, 32, of Defiance.
Oberlin was taken into custody in the 500 block of Clinton Street in Defiance on April 26, 2018.
He was wanted on a felony warrant for Escape from Wood County, as well as outstanding warrants in Defiance and Henry Counties.
Oberlin allegedly walked off a work release site in Portage.
He's being held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio until his initial appearance in Defiance Municipal Court on a charge of escape.
Oberlin's previous charges include involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs and trafficking drugs.
