Sweet Sisterhood hosting shoe giveaway Saturday

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Sweet Sisterhood is hosting a shoe giveaway on Saturday at 1500 Colorado St, Toledo 43605.

Sweet Sisterhood, a nonprofit organization that focuses to empower women and children to overcome trauma and societal challenges, is hosting a shoe giveaway on Saturday June 29 during the Toledo Metroparks opening of the new playground at Ravine Park.

From 11am-2pm, 120 free closed-toe shoes (sizes 1c-13c) will be provided to children in need, while focusing on supporting low-income mothers and those who receive SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid.

“Closed-toe shoes are a requirement for many summer programs, and this giveaway will ensure that low-income children in our community will have the footwear they need to participate in summer programs,” said Angela Navarro, the founder of Sweet Sisterhood.
