TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - More than two months after a judge shut down the Agenda Sports Bar, the mother of one murder victim is speaking out about her son’s death.

In July, two people were shot and killed and two were seriously injured outside the bar on Matzinger. Christopher Bourn II, 31, was one of the victims who died.

“He was a mama’s boy, did nothing move or shake without him consulting me,” said Latoneya McClain, Bourn’s mother.

McClain said her son was an awesome son, loving father and a good friend. She said the last time they talked, her son was worried about her.

“He called me back. He said, ‘Mom, how are you feeling?’ I said, ‘I’m feeling a little bit better,’” McClain said. “I said, ‘Where are you about to go?’ He was like, ‘Me and my friends are going to the Agenda tonight.’ And I was like, ‘Ok, be careful,’” McClain said.

Hours later, four people were shot outside the Agenda Sports Bar. Bourn and another person died. Two other people were injured. Police have no suspects.

“Nobody saying nothing. I don’t know if people are scared,” McClain said.

A judge deemed the bar a public nuisance and ordered it to close for one year.

“It don’t matter if it didn’t happen inside the bar. My son’s body was lying in the middle of the street in front of the bar. My son’s death certificate says the Agenda Sports Bar. The corner report says that. The police report says that. They are still responsible for their patrons leaving in and out of that bar,” McClain said.

Bourn left behind four boys and cherished every moment of the holidays. He never missed a Halloween taking his sons trick-or-treating. This year, his kids are holding a truck-or-treat in honor of their dad.

“Really, we just want people to decorate their trunks and pass out candy to the kids,” McClain said.

The event will be held at Wilson Park on Sunday, Oct. 26. McClain hopes people will speak up and help their family get justice.

“You don’t have to say your name, or you can be anonymous,” McClain said.
