Toledo man accused of kidnapping, brutally attacking pregnant woman

A Toledo man is behind bars facing 13 charges in the alleged kidnapping and rape of a pregnant woman.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A Toledo man has been indicted on a slew of charges in the alleged kidnapping, rape and brutal abuse of a pregnant woman.

On Jan. 13, Jamere Jones, 25, was indicted on three counts of kidnapping, seven counts of rape, four counts of strangulation, two counts of felonious assault, one count of attempted felonious assault and one count of domestic violence on Jan. 13.

His bond was set at $640,000 at a hearing on Jan. 27. Jones is due back in court on Feb. 2.

Court documents allege he barricaded a woman inside his Toledo home on New Year’s Eve. The victim was 21 weeks pregnant. While inside the home, Jones allegedly beat the victim, at times using a hammer, belt and chain in the attack. Police said he held a rifle to her chest.

It’s also alleged he poured rubbing alcohol on her and threatened to lighter her on fire, as well as strangling her to the point of losing conscience and raping her multiple times.
