Second driver in Talmadge crash dies of injuries, medical officials say

One person died and another was seriously injured in a crash on Talmadge Thursday morning.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A second person involved in a crash on Talmadge Road on Thursday has died of their injuries, medical officials announced Friday.

13 Action news reported the death of Robin Steele, 45, of Sylvania, on Thursday. Now we’re learning that the other driver involved in the crash, Grant Boyd Jr., 51, of Toledo, has also died.

The crash happened on Talmadge near Sulgrave the morning of March 19, 2026.

Toledo Fire and Rescue officials at the scene said that two vehicles were involved in a head-on crash around 6 a.m. Authorities said Boyd Jr. crossed the center line and crashed into Steele’s vehicle.

Both vehicles caught fire.

Steele died at the scene. Boyd Jr. was taken to an area hospital with blunt force trauma where he later died.
