Fire displaces 10 at West Alexis Road apartment complex
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A two-alarm fire at a multi-unit apartment complex Sunday afternoon displaced 10 people, according to Toledo Fire and Rescue Department.
The fire was reported at 4:40 p.m. at 2031 West Alexis Road. The building was occupied, but all residents evacuated safely.
TFRD initially fought the fire from inside the building, but later switched to a defensive approach, fighting the fire from outside.
No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported.
No surrounding buildings were damaged.
Crews were working to cut utilities to the building. The city’s buildings department was preparing for a demolition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials said they did not know where the fire started.
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents. Everyone has been accounted for, fire officials said.
