Dog found abandoned inside Virginia mailbox dubbed ‘Mail Order Bride’

RICHMOND, Va. (TMX/Gray News) - A dog found abandoned inside a Virginia mailbox has been dubbed “Mail Order Bride,” and authorities are searching for the person who left her there.

Richmond Animal Care and Control shared photos last Friday of a small dog abandoned inside a carrier stuffed inside a mailbox.

Rescuers confirmed the dog is not owned by the resident at the mailbox’s address.

“Just when we think we’ve seen it all... Yes, this is a little dog left in a carrier in a mailbox,” RACC wrote alongside the photos on social media. “Yes, we named her Mail Order Bride (it had to be done).”

Now officials are asking for the public’s help identifying the pup’s owner.

“If anyone recognizes this cutie, please contact RACC; we would love to talk with her owner,” the agency said.
