TARTA offering free transportation to City of Toledo’s Juneteenth Celebration

TARTA is providing free transportation to multiple Juneteenth events within the Toledo community on Friday, June 19.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - TARTA is providing free round-trip shuttle transportation to the City of Toledo’s Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 19, courtesy of the event’s organizers.

The shuttles go from from The Docks to the celebration at Glass City Metropark, which lasts from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event features art, music and family activities. There will also be historical exhibits, including The Past: Ancestral Roots, The Present: Resilience & Freedom and The Future: Afrofuturism & Beyond.

Shuttles for the City of Toledo’s Juneteenth Celebration will run from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. For those taking TARTA’s fixed-route service, routes 2, 10 and 12 run near Glass City Metropark. The company said paratransit customers can schedule a ride on TARTA Move by calling 419-382-9901.

Guests can pay to take any TARTA regular-service downtown route to the Juneteenth Parade and Motown Night at Party in the Park.

The parade runs from Uptown Green to Promenade Park and steps off at 1 p.m. There will be food trucks and family activities at Promenade Park from 3 p.m to 5 p.m. Motown Night at Party in the Park starts at 6 p.m.

Riders can also pay to take Route 2 to the Toledo Museum of Art’s Family Center for an opportunity to create art from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
