On April 12 around 1:45 p.m., Maumee Police responded to a shooting that occurred on the Anthony Wayne Trail near Conant Street.
MPD says during a road rage incident, Ford attempted to block a woman’s vehicle and then fired a gun into the driver’s door window. The bullet passed by the woman’s head and struck the roof of the car.
According to police, the victim did have minor injuries which are believed to be from bullet fragments from when the bullet struck inside the vehicle. Her injuries did not require any treatment at the scene. There was also a 4-year-old child passenger in the vehicle who was not injured.
MPD says Ford fled the scene before police arrived but detectives were able to identify and locate him in Toledo. With assistance from Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Ford’s vehicle was stopped on I-475 near Secor Road and he was arrested and taken into custody.
