OWDA awards Sylvania funding for sanitary sewer project

SYLVANIA, Ohio (WTVG) - Sylvania is slated to receive nearly $1 million in funding for water improvement projects.
The Ohio Water Development Authorities announced nearly $30 million in financing through low interest loans to Ohio communities Wednesday. The money is part of an effort to improve wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects.
Among the 16 communities chosen to receiving funding from the Fresh Water Loan Program in May, the agency says the City of Sylvania will receive $988,766 at 3.37% for 20 years.
OWDA said it’s for the rehabilitation of more than 5,000 feet of sanitary sewer using cured-in-place pipe lining along Tenmile Creek between Main Street and Harroun Road, expected to reduce inflow and infiltration.
