COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVG) - Ohio’s new U.S. Senator was sworn in to office Friday.
Republican Bernie Moreno, 57, a Cleveland-area businessman, was sworn into the 119th Congress on Jan. 3. He’s replacing former Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat, after defeating him in November’s election. Moreno became the first Hispanic-American to hold statewide office in Ohio’s history. He’ll serve on the banking, budget, commerce and homeland security committees.
We’re still waiting to hear who Governor Mike DeWine will pick to replace Ohio’s other Senator, Vice President-elect JD Vance.
