Toledo woman accused of cutting man’s testicle during break-in turns herself in, faces judge
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A Toledo woman accused of breaking into the home of a person she knows and cutting his testicle has turned herself in and faced a judge Friday morning.
Court records show Jeanita Hopings, 45, of Toledo, had her warrant cleared Friday morning when she appeared in court on charges of felonious assault and aggravated burglary.
Charging records allege she forcefully kicked open the front door to the victim’s Toledo home on Boothbay and came in without permission on Oct. 7. The victim told investigators that he heard someone break in and ran downstairs to see who it was, and he did not have clothes on at the time.
The affidavit alleges Hopings assaulted the man by cutting his testicle sac with an “unknown instrument,” causing it to be “clearly exposed as a result of the laceration.” He needed medical treatment at the hospital.
She was released on her own recognizance after Friday’s court appearance. She was placed on electronic monitoring and the judge ordered her to have no contact with the victim.
She’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 16.
