Mud Hens manager Gabe Alvarez to return for second season
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo Mud Hens manager Gabe Alvarez will be returning for his second season leading the team, the team announced Monday.
Alvarez joined the Mud Hens in 2025, leading the team to an 84-66 record. Prior to Toledo, he was the manager of the Tigers’ Double-A affiliate, the Erie SeaWolves, for three seasons.
According to the Mud Hens, hitting coaches Mike Hessman and Francisco Contreras and pitching coach Doug Bochtler will also be returning. Bullpen coach Jimmy Robbins will be joining the coaching staff to start the season.
The Mud Hens season starts at Lehigh Valley on March 27. The home opener will be on April 7.
