White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt expects second baby ‘any minute’
(Gray News) – White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Friday in a gaggle that she will be on maternity leave soon.
“This will likely be my last gaggle for some time,” she said. “As you can see, I’m about ready to have a baby any minute. I will see you guys very soon.”
Leavitt went on to assure the press that everyone will be in good hands with the team at the White House.
“I know all of you have the president’s phone number personally,” she joked, giving nod to an article published by The Atlantic last month. “So, I have no doubt that you’ll have [no] shortage of statements and news from this building while I’m gone.”
Despite her recent comments, Leavitt was posting on X throughout the weekend in response to the attack during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
“President Trump was truly fearless, but as he said last night, this political violence needs to end,” Leavitt said on X.
She is also expected to speak at the White House, Monday at 1 p.m. ET.
