TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The annual Old West End Festival celebrates the many people, organizations, bands, school groups and more that make Toledo a place we’re proud to call home.

Before two alleged gunmen from “rival groups” began shooting during the festival on June 6, leaving at least 12 people with gunshot wounds, a parade went through the neighborhood.

We wanted you to see the positivity that filled the Old West End neighborhood in the hours before tragedy struck.

Cheerleaders, dancers, majorettes, bands and more performed to the delight of onlookers lining the parade route. Horsemen towered above the crowds as kids gazed up in wonderment.

The parade demonstrated the diversity of the Glass City and how beautiful it is when communities comes together for a shared goal of sharing art and spreading joy.

Find a photo gallery showing the highlights we captured of the parade on June 6, 2026 attached to the top of this story.
