Two people airlifted to hospital after boat fire in Port Clinton

We are following a developing story out of Port Clinton. The Port Clinton police department confirms a boat is on fire in Lake Erie.
You can see the fire burning off the Jefferson Street Pier.
According to a police dispatcher, police, EMS, firefighters and members of the U.S. Coast Guard Marblehead station all responded this morning.
The U.S. Coast Guard's Marblehead station reports a 26' vessel caught fire about a 1/2 nautical mile north of the Portage River this morning. There were two people on board. Before the Coast Guard arrived on scene, a good Samaritan brought both people to the shore.They were then taken by air to a hospital. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.
The boat burned down to the waterline. Pollution responders from MSU Toledo are taking over the cleanup and the boat will be removed from Lake Erie by a commercial salvage company.
