Pedestrian hospitalized in crash Thursday night

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A pedestrian was hospitalized Thursday night after police say they were hit by a car.
Toledo Police say a car was driving north in the curb lane on Cherry Street just before 10:15 p.m. Thursday night, right by St. Vincent Medical Center, when a pedestrian crossed the street outside of a crosswalk and stepped into the path of the car.
Hospital staff took a gurney outside and began providing medical care. The extent of the pedestrian’s injuries is unknown. The driver of the vehicle, a 71-year-old man, was not injured.
Police did not identify the pedestrian who was hurt in the crash. Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
