Toledo to build new raw water main that will supply 500,000 customers with treated water from Lake Erie
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A roughly 10-mile pipeline will carry water from the Low Service Pumping Station just to the east of the Cedar Point National Wildlife Refuge to the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant.
The city of Toledo and the design and engineering team will present the plan to the public at a May 21 meeting at the Eisenhower Intermediate School in Oregon starting at 6 p.m.
The project, which will service 500,000 customers in the Toledo area, runs through Jerusalem Township and Oregon.
City leaders and the planning team will explain what to expect during construction and the necessity for providing water to the region.
They will also provide an overview of the project’s purpose, plans, proposed water main alignment, completed work, and the remaining engineering, design, and construction schedule, as well as general project information, environmental considerations, traffic maintenance, and easements/real estate information.
